**Job Summary**

Apple's Silicon Engineering Group (SEG) is seeking a highly skilled CPU Implementation Engineer to join their team. As a CPU Implementation Engineer, you will play a critical role in driving or participating in various tasks, including defining micro-architecture, driving RTL-to-GDS design convergence, and working closely with internal CAD and PD methodology teams.

 

Salary: The estimated salary for this role is between $175,800 and $312,200, depending on skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

 

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Collaborating with micro-architects to define the micro-architecture and assist with design feasibility and power, performance, and area (PPA) trade-offs.
  • Driving RTL-to-GDS design convergence through microarchitecture and logic (RTL) optimizations using synthesis and place-and-route tools targeting ambitious goals for PPA.
  • Working closely with internal CAD and PD methodology teams on industry standard synthesis/PNR tool features and optimizations and their adoption in CPU design.
  • Assisting in the development of block-level design delivery along with closure of backend flows, electrical requirements, and improving silicon yield.
  • Collaborating with x-functional top-level teams on the aspects of CPU floorplan, timing, power, reliability, and testability.
  • Working closely with custom IP teams to define and co-optimize memory macros, library standard cells to improve design PPA.

 

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you should possess:

  • Minimum BS and 10+ years of relevant industry experience.
  • Experience in logic design and digital circuits.
  • Experience with low power and high frequency design techniques.
  • Experience in TCL or Perl.
