Job Title: Elementary Education Teacher

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Elementary Education Teacher to join our team at Spero Academy.

Job Summary:

The Elementary Education Teacher will be responsible for creating and maintaining a safe, nurturing, and cooperative learning environment that supports the school's mission. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the MN State Standards and MN Academic benchmarks, and will be able to develop and implement engaging lesson plans that maximize students' potential.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement lesson plans that integrate school-adopted curriculum and meet the needs of diverse learners.
  • Use the Synergy Student Information System and Parent Portal to track student progress and communicate with parents.
  • Facilitate IEP meetings, data collection, and analysis to ensure students receive the support they need.
  • Lead and facilitate team meetings and collaboration in the classroom to promote a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Provide training and feedback to staff assigned to work as part of the classroom team.
  • Evaluate students using appropriate evaluation tools and maintain accurate records.
  • Collaborate with support teachers and therapists to ensure students' grade-level, IEP, and individual needs are met.
  • Demonstrate familiarity with assistive technology and provide support as needed.
  • Aid in students' transition into and from school as needed.
Requirements:
  • Current licensure in Elementary Education.
  • Special Education experience or licensure in Special Education is a plus.
  • Excellent oral, written, and spoken communication skills.
  • Ability to interact well with internal staff, students, and parents.
  • Detail-oriented and flexible.
  • Professional demeanor and appearance with a positive attitude.
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and resourceful in the completion of work assignments.
  • Sense of accountability and ownership for work results.
  • Ability to work with limited supervision.
  • Knowledge of computer applications, including MacBook equipment.
  • Ability to maintain a status of 'not disqualified' upon completion of criminal background and MN disciplinary incidence research.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds or move quickly to contain a student.
