Job Summary

The Lending Assistant is a key member of our Loan Origination team at Banksouth Corporation. This role is responsible for supporting relationship managers in commercial and consumer loan origination, ensuring timely and accurate loan processing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Scanning and uploading loan documentation, sending loan forms and disclosure agreements to customers for completion and signature.
  • Ordering appraisals, evaluations, and income/employment verification reports.
  • Requesting title and lien searches, flood determinations, and credit verification.
  • Funding loans at closing and reviewing executed documents.
  • Placing loan documents in stacking order and sending to collateral specialists.
  • Following up on document exceptions and ensuring compliance with banking laws and regulations.
  • Maintaining confidentiality of customer files and proprietary Bank property.
Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • 1-3 years of experience supporting commercial lenders, with some consumer loan and TRID loan experience desired.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.) is required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ability to think analytically and identify problems, extract key information, and develop solutions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of loan policy and procedures, as well as sound oral and written communication skills.
Working Conditions

This role requires the ability to work independently and with limited supervision, with a focus on delivering high-quality results in a fast-paced environment.
