Job Summary

This role is responsible for 24-hour medical monitoring and supervision of study participants, ensuring timely completion of deliverables to meet the needs of the study sponsor, principal investigator, and department administration. Direct supervision of Patient Care Technicians on the inpatient unit is also a key aspect of this position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform EEG tests according to protocol and medical requirements, collaborating with healthcare professionals to ensure accurate diagnostic evaluations.
  • Monitor the physical and mental status of study participants throughout the shift, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Accurately document all study participant interactions, ensuring proper documentation is maintained in each record.
  • Collect, document, and report data in a timely and accurate manner, ensuring all delegated responsibilities are completed to a high standard.
  • Identify potential crisis situations and intervene in a calm, professional manner, maintaining confidentiality at all times.
  • Complete all required forms for admissions and discharges, ensuring a smooth transition for study participants.
  • Maintain current knowledge to ensure a safe working environment, adhering to all policies and procedures relative to safety and infection control.
  • Utilize universal precautions when interacting with study participant body fluids or used participant supplies that may be contaminated.
  • Assume other duties and responsibilities as assigned, ensuring a high level of quality and attention to detail.


Requirements

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • PEEGT Certification.
  • Experience performing EEG tests.
  • Ability to maintain study participant confidentiality.
  • Ability to work as a team member, contributing to a positive and collaborative environment.
  • Ability to maintain quality control standards, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
  • Ability to communicate clearly, both orally and in writing.
  • Attention to detail, ensuring all tasks are completed to a high standard.


Working Conditions

  1. Indoor, Clinic environment.
  2. Essential physical requirements include sitting, typing, standing, and walking.
  3. Lightly active position, occasional lifting of up to 20 pounds.
  4. Reporting to work, as scheduled, is essential.
