Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Kitchen Steward to join our team at Intermountain Medical Center. As a Kitchen Steward, you will play a critical role in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our culinary department, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for our patients and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clean and sanitize dishes, utensils, and equipment according to hospital department guidelines.
  • Gather patient trays from hospital floors and transport them to the dishroom for cleaning.
  • Clean and disinfect assigned areas, including dining areas, using department cleaning procedures.
  • Operate and maintain assigned equipment, such as commercial dishwashers, according to established procedures.
  • Report any equipment or facility issues to management in a timely manner.
Requirements
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills, including reading color-coded labels and chemicals, and following written and verbal directions.
  • Be available to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the department.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Professional housekeeping experience.
  • Food Handler's Permit.

Physical Requirements:

  • Operate housekeeping equipment requiring the ability to move fingers and hands.
  • See and read labels, monitors, and documents.
  • Carry, push/pull, and walk while transporting supplies and equipment.
  • Climb, squat, kneel, and lift up to 50 lbs to clean equipment and reach and retrieve supplies.
  • Remain standing for long periods of time to perform work.
  • Tolerate hot and cold extremes in temperature.

Location: Intermountain Medical Center, Murray, UT

Work Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week

Hourly Rate: $16.32 - $21.22 per hour
