Position Overview

The Family Practice physician role within the Defense Health Agency involves delivering comprehensive healthcare services in accordance with established policies and protocols. The incumbent will exercise independent judgment and assume full responsibility for the professional diagnosis, treatment, referral, and management of patients.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Clinical Duties: Provide thorough examination, diagnosis, prevention, and treatment across a range of medical fields including surgical, obstetric, gynecological, and orthopedic care.
  2. Patient Management: Take ownership of the care for an assigned panel of patients, ensuring continuous and comprehensive primary care for individuals of all ages.
  3. Team Leadership: Lead a multidisciplinary team to collectively manage the ongoing care of patients, ensuring a collaborative approach to healthcare delivery.
  4. Care Coordination: Integrate and coordinate care across various elements of the healthcare system, including subspecialty services, hospitals, and community resources.
  5. Documentation: Complete all required medical records and documentation in compliance with established procedures and regulations.
  6. Education and Training: Provide consultation and education to other healthcare providers as necessary, and participate in Continuing Medical Education (CME) and quality assurance initiatives.
  7. Supervision: Oversee other healthcare providers, assigning tasks based on priorities and capabilities, and conduct performance evaluations.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will be a Board Certified or Board Eligible Medical Doctor, with or without U.S. residency, and possess a current U.S. work visa.
