The Team
The FCM Market & Collateral Risk team operates within the Fidelity Legal, Risk & Compliance global organization, focused on fostering a unified approach to risk management, identifying emerging trends, and enhancing operational efficiency through best practice sharing—all aimed at safeguarding our clients, employees, and Fidelity's esteemed brand.
The Risk Management team oversees a diverse range of risk functions within the Fidelity Capital Markets Division. Fidelity Capital Markets serves as the institutional trading arm of Fidelity Investments, offering trading, products, and operations to both internal business channels and external clients, including Retail Investors, Investment Advisors, Broker Dealers, Family Offices, as well as buy-side and sell-side institutions and hedge funds. The Expertise You Have
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance or a related discipline; a Master's Degree, MBA, or CFA is advantageous.
- 5+ years of experience in Financial Services.
- Strong analytical and technical capabilities.
- Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Experience with market, credit, default, liquidity, operational risk principles, and risk methodologies such as stress testing and scenario analyses.
- Ability to apply or acquire knowledge of the brokerage business and financial products in trading, clearing, and custody with risk management practices.
- Strong technical and analytical skills for daily risk management tasks.
- Capability to identify inherent risks to the business (e.g., market, credit, financial, operational, regulatory, technology, and reputational).
- Self-motivated individual who can work independently and manage time effectively to drive initiatives from inception to completion.
- Familiarity with or willingness to learn brokerage operations and regulations.
- Proficient written and verbal communication skills that influence decision-making.
- Excellent command of MS Office applications, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Familiarity with database queries and analytical tools and methodologies (SQL, Tableau, Alteryx, SAP BusinessObjects) is a plus.
- Collaborating independently and with team members to assess market risks associated with Fidelity Capital Markets' Fixed Income, Foreign Exchange, Equity, and Securities Lending trading desks.
- Evaluating proprietary trading accounts of Fidelity Custody & Clearing Solutions clients to ensure adequate collateralization from a stress-based perspective in margin lending.
- Effectively managing multiple initiatives and responsibilities within set timelines.
- Engaging stakeholders and facilitating discussions, meetings, and walkthroughs of risk analytics.
- Driving innovation by utilizing complex data sets to identify risks and understand controls, parameters, and risk methodologies.
- Communicating intricate issues by summarizing them into concise reports and presentations.
- Identifying opportunities to enhance existing risk reporting and develop new key risk indicators.
