About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Decommissioning and Demolition Technician to join our team at GHD. As a key member of our decommissioning and demolition group, you will be responsible for a diverse array of responsibilities and tasks to accomplish the objectives of the team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct inspections of large commercial and manufacturing facilities prior to decommissioning and/or demolition.
  • Oversee contractors during the decommissioning of commercial and manufacturing facilities, including asbestos abatement, PCB remediation, mercury remediation, and other hazardous materials removal/disposal.
  • Manage contractors during the demolition of commercial and manufacturing facilities, supervising budgets, schedule, project scope, waste manifesting, and health/safety.
  • Manage environmental data, compilation, and analysis.
  • Travel to project sites across North America - Up to 80% overnight travel.
  • Perform a wide variety of field duties for both routine/scheduled and emergency environmental projects to include: inspection, maintenance, monitoring, construction oversight, air monitoring, operating UAVs, and operations and maintenance of remediation systems.
  • Prepare technical correspondence, project proposals, technical reports, work plans, and project specifications including cost estimates and budgets - Data compilation, reduction, interpretation, evaluation/comparison to environmental regulatory standards.

What You Will Bring
  • H.S. Diploma or higher.
  • 5+ years of experience.
  • Ability to perform field work in remote locations and travel overnight.
  • Mechanical, electrical and computer aptitude.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
