Position Overview:Skyworks Solutions is in search of a Principal IC Design Engineer to spearhead the development of RF power amplifiers for wireless front-end module products. This role requires expertise in GaAs or SiGe HBT technologies and the integration of multiple ICs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with project engineers to ensure alignment on system requirements and performance trade-offs.
- Conduct linear and nonlinear simulations to validate designs.
- Oversee IC layouts and engage in lab evaluations and prototype tuning.
- Lead die-level floor planning and feasibility analysis for new product development.
- Design and simulate fully integrated power amplifier ICs, taking package effects into account.
- Manage design trade-offs concerning performance, risk, yield, testability, and cost.
- Support hardware validations and analyze measurement data for performance improvements.
- Prepare and deliver design reviews and technical presentations to stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree with 9+ years of relevant experience, or MSEE/Ph.D. with 7+ years, or Ph.D. with 5+ years.
- Familiarity with amplifier modes (Class A, AB, B, C, F, F-1) and in-depth knowledge of PA bias circuit designs.
- Experience in RFIC/PA design using GaAs HBT, SiGe BiCMOS, GaN, or CMOS technologies.
- Proficiency with IC layout tools and layout planning, as well as on-chip ESD protection strategies.
- Expertise in simulation tools such as Keysight ADS and Cadence, along with EM design simulation tools (2.5D and 3-D).
- Strong lab skills for characterization, optimization, and debugging, with the ability to execute tasks independently.
Compensation and Benefits:
The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is currently USD $124,400 - $235,700 per year. Starting base pay will depend on relevant experience, skills, and business needs. Benefits include healthcare options, a 401(k) plan with company match, an employee stock purchase plan, and paid time off, among others. Employees may also participate in an incentive plan based on individual and company performance.
