Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist to join our team at Trinity Health. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our operating rooms, providing exceptional patient care, and working collaboratively with our surgical team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare the operating room for surgical cases, anticipating the needs of the surgeon and ensuring a safe and efficient environment.
  • Assist the circulating nurse in assessing patients' needs and developing a plan of care.
  • Provide care to all surgical patients, adhering to the operating room's performance standards, physician preference cards, and AORN Standards of Care and Practice.
  • Set up rooms, secure safe transport of patients, and confirm correctness of the surgical site.
  • Manage the sterile field, specimens, and instruments, and turn the room around under the supervision of the circulating nurse.
  • Serve as a steward for the hospital's human and material resources, meeting productivity expectations and identifying accurate changes on surgeons' preference cards.
Requirements
  • Graduate of a surgical technologist program or LPN program with surgical experience.
  • Certification as a surgical technologist preferred; LPN license required if graduate of LPN program.
  • Proof of Basic Life Support (BLS) and Mandatory Reporting for Child and Dependent Adult Abuse training.
