Position: Support Specialist for Residential Care

Harbour House Inc. is dedicated to providing short-term crisis stabilization services within a therapeutic residential environment for individuals in need. We are currently seeking Support Specialists to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:

The primary responsibility of a Support Specialist is to deliver tailored support that aligns with the individual treatment plans of our residents. Additionally, Support Specialists play a crucial role in ensuring a safe, nurturing, and therapeutic atmosphere that promotes personal growth, facilitating a smooth transition for residents back into their communities upon discharge.

Essential Duties Include:

  • Monitoring and supervising all residents within the facility.
  • Assisting residents with their basic care and therapeutic needs.
  • Timely reporting and documentation of residents' emotional states.
  • Accurate monitoring, counting, and logging of medications during medication times.
  • Conducting daily record-keeping (including contact notes and daily logs) and communicating essential information with the next shift and/or clinical staff.
  • Organizing leisure and recreational activities that align with residents' treatment plans.
  • Participating in mandatory training sessions.
  • Providing crisis intervention as necessary.
  • Maintaining open, effective, and appropriate communication with residents, staff, and external partners.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in a mental health environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Dependability and reliability.
  • Adaptability and flexibility.
  • Possession of a clean and valid driver's license.
  • CPR and first aid certifications are advantageous.
