Job Title: Environmental Services Technician

WellSpan Health is seeking a skilled Environmental Services Technician to join our team. As an Environmental Services Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of patient rooms, offices, and other areas of the hospital.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform a variety of general cleaning tasks to maintain patient rooms, offices, and other assigned areas.
  • Clean and disinfect all fixtures, floors, mirrors, windows, doors, and walls of bathrooms.
  • Dust furniture, woodwork, equipment, and dust mop floors.
  • Polish and clean fixtures in utility rooms and bathrooms.
  • Wet mop rooms, halls, stairways, and public areas.
  • Clean fixtures, tops of windows, door frames, and high areas using a ladder.
  • Gather and dispose of trash and waste materials.
  • Remove waste and soiled linens from work area and place in specified bags or containers.
  • Assist in hanging drapes and dividers and take them down for cleaning.
  • Perform terminal cleaning procedures of patient rooms and prepare room for new occupant.
  • Follow isolation procedures in isolation rooms.
Requirements:
  • Ability to read, write, understand, and speak English at a level that enables the individual to perform the functions of the job satisfactorily.
  • Less than 1 year of relevant experience.
Working Conditions:

This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to lift, push, and pull heavy objects. The individual must be able to work in a team environment and to communicate effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare team members.
