This full-time, in-person position for the 2024-2025 school year offers a unique chance to make a significant impact by providing specialized instruction and fostering a positive learning environment for students with disabilities in a middle and high school setting (grades 6-12).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and other specialists to develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) that cater to the specific learning needs of students with disabilities in your assigned middle and high school caseload.
  • Utilize a variety of evidence-based instructional strategies and differentiated learning techniques to promote academic achievement, social-emotional development, and independence for students with disabilities.
  • Create a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment that fosters student engagement, positive behavior, and a sense of belonging in a middle and high school setting.
  • Provide ongoing support and differentiated instruction to students with disabilities across grades 6-12.
  • Collaborate effectively with parents, guardians, therapists, and other professionals to ensure a cohesive team approach to student success.
  • Monitor student progress, analyze data on interventions, and make adjustments as needed to personalize instruction and ensure continued improvement.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current on best practices in special education methodologies, differentiated instruction, and curriculum development for middle and high school students.
Requirements:
  • Ohio State Special Education Teacher License or eligibility for licensure.
  • Master's degree in Special Education or a related field preferred.
  • Prior experience working with students with disabilities in a middle and/or high school setting is highly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of adolescent development, special education methodologies, differentiated instruction practices, social-emotional learning strategies, and curriculum content relevant to middle and high school students.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills to build strong relationships with students of all abilities, parents, teachers, administrators, and other school staff.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and report writing.
  • A passion for promoting inclusive education, supporting the success of students with disabilities, and fostering a collaborative learning environment.
