Part Time, Non-Union, Non-Exempt Role

Compensation: $16.14 per hour, 16 hours per week

Available Positions: 2; Every other Saturday & Sunday, 4:00pm-12:00am

PRIMARY ROLE OF RESIDENTIAL SUPPORT SPECIALIST:

Ensure comprehensive oversight of residential clients and the living facility.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Uphold a safe, secure, and organized environment.
  • Engage with all residents respectfully while maintaining appropriate behavioral expectations.
  • Account for all residents consistently through sign-out logs, direct observations, and ongoing supervision of activities within the facility and during any external activities.
  • Monitor the usage of all supplies, food, and equipment.
  • Document all necessary log entries and prepare reports as required.
  • Oversee sanitation efforts and conduct inspections.
  • Manage all entries and exits from the facility.
  • Enforce program regulations consistently.
  • Inspect all packages for prohibited items and conduct searches as necessary.
  • Transport residents as needed (some roles may require obtaining a public service license).
  • Supervise clients engaged in community service activities.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR RESIDENTIAL SUPPORT SPECIALIST:

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • At least two years of experience in social services, support roles, or security-related work.
  • Proficient reading and effective written communication skills.
  • Ability to respond calmly and appropriately to challenging or aggressive behavior from residents.
  • Strong communication skills are essential.
  • Capability to work with diverse populations.
  • Connecticut Driver's License and Public Service license preferred.
