Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Adjunct Faculty member to join our Department of Dental Hygiene at the University of South Dakota. As a Clinical Instructor, you will play a vital role in the education and training of our dental hygiene students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach and direct dental hygiene students in the care of patients
  • Provide laboratory, pre-clinical, and clinical instruction to dental hygiene students
  • Assist students in generating comprehensive treatment and prevention/management plans for patients
  • Ensure high-quality care for patients and students
  • Support clinical policies and procedures of the University of South Dakota
  • Attend department meetings to stay current with department policies and best practices
Qualifications
  • BSDH degree
  • Current South Dakota License or eligibility for licensure
  • South Dakota Certification to administer local anesthesia and nitrous oxide/oxygen sedation or eligibility to obtain certification
  • Healthcare Provider CPR Certification
  • In good standing with the State of South Dakota Board of Dentistry
Preferred Qualifications
  • MSDH or related field or current enrollment in a graduate program
  • 5 or more years of clinical experience
  • Experience in preclinical or clinical teaching at an accredited Dental Hygiene Program
Working Conditions

This position requires working in a clinical environment and may involve exposure to infectious diseases.
