Your Opportunity
A senior-level National Environmental Policy Act planner and project coordinator with expertise in guiding projects through the federal environmental permitting process from constraints analysis/scoping through regulatory consultations to environmental certification.

This is a full-time position reporting to Stantec's Santa Barbara, CA office. The position is eligible for remote hybrid work arrangement.

Key Responsibilities
Lead the preparation, management, and review of environmental impact documents and associated mitigation plans in accordance with NEPA, such as Environmental Assessments, Environmental Impact Statements, and exemptions/exclusions. Conduct thorough reviews of technical studies and associated field surveys informing NEPA documents, including biological resources surveys and assessments, cultural resources surveys and reports, geotechnical surveys and reports, air quality reports, and wetland delineations.

Capabilities and Credentials
Proven organizational skills, multi-tasking capabilities, and attention to detail. Strong technical writing, analytical, and oral communication skills. Ability to handle multiple tasks and shifting priorities, manage time effectively, and meet firm deadlines. Ability to acquire background clearance sufficient to gain entry to military installations and/or controlled access facilities. Valid driver's license with a good driving record.

Preferred
Experience with environmental analysis and permitting for military projects or projects for other federal government entities on Federally-owned lands. Oversee the preparation of environmental permit applications with various federal and state agencies for a variety of project types/sizes. Manage project or task teams, including office- and field-based staff, and their assignments, deliverables, files, and administrative record, safety program, subconsultants, and client expectations.

Education and Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Biology, Geology, Chemistry, Community/Urban Planning, or a closely related field. Master's Degree in any of the fields described above is preferred. Minimum 6 years of related work experience, with demonstrated task lead experience. Ability to obtain IAW NISPOM security clearance.
