Housing Inspector

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Housing Inspector to join our team at the City of Pasadena. As a Housing Inspector, you will be responsible for conducting thorough inspections of private market housing units to ensure compliance with HUD Housing Quality Standards (HQS) and City Regulations.

• Conduct on-site inspections of residential properties to identify any deficiencies or health and safety issues
• Record and report all inspection findings, including any necessary repairs or maintenance
• Notify landlords of any inspection failures and provide detailed lists of required repairs
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of inspections and related data
• Collaborate with landlords and other stakeholders to resolve any issues or concerns
• Perform administrative tasks, including data entry and document preparation

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; two years of experience in the building trades or a related field preferred
• HUD or Housing Quality Standards Certification required; NSPIRE certification a plus
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Excel and Word
• Valid Texas Driver's License

• Knowledge of HUD rules and regulations relating to the Housing Choice Voucher Program
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
