Position Overview

The selected candidate will be instrumental in supporting the analysis, development, and evaluation of fault isolation and troubleshooting methodologies for engineering designs. This role involves making informed recommendations for design enhancements based on thorough analysis. The candidate will engage in engineering investigations, analysis, and resolution of reliability components in the design, development, and implementation of both new and existing systems or subsystems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support engineering teams with reliability-focused design analysis and coordinate issue resolution.
  • Conduct Failure Modes Effects Analysis (FMEA) and perform reliability assessments, trend analysis, and root cause investigations, while developing and maintaining relevant databases.
  • Lead the Failure Reporting, Analysis, and Corrective Action System (FRACAS) Engineering Process.
  • Ensure timely and budget-conscious completion of assigned technical tasks.
  • Design, develop, analyze, document, and assist in the testing of products, systems, or subsystems.
  • Utilize computer-aided engineering or other design/analysis software as necessary.
  • Regularly report on progress and status updates.
  • Review customer specifications and requirements, developing designs that align with them while considering cost as a critical design factor.
  • Provide insights on budget, cost, and scheduling for design tasks.
  • Specify and assess supplier components, subsystems, and services.
  • Support program design initiatives focused on cost efficiency and manufacturability.
  • Develop prototypes to mitigate key development risks.
  • Communicate effectively (both written and verbal) with colleagues and clients as required.
  • Participate in the preparation of less-complex proposals.
  • Offer technical knowledge and support to fellow engineers and support staff.
  • Promote and uphold the mission, values, and culture of the organization.
  • Attend relevant engineering, customer, or business meetings.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical field, or equivalent experience, along with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated technical expertise and knowledge in the application domain.
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently.

This position necessitates an active DOD security clearance or the capability to obtain such clearance within a reasonable timeframe following the commencement of employment.
