Job Description

Job Title: Software Development Manager

Job Summary:

Vectrus is a pioneer in electromagnetic spectrum engineering and digital systems integration, with over 30 years of experience. We collaborate with clients to address their most challenging operational issues by implementing advanced technological solutions. Our engineers design, develop, and integrate various data sources and devices to deliver converged environment solutions. Working with cutting-edge technologies and following a system engineering approach, our geographically dispersed engineers and DevOps teams engage in both live and virtual collaborations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and Develop Software: Design and develop quality software according to requirements.
  • Automated Unit Tests and Manual Functionality Tests: Develop and maintain automated unit tests and manual functionality tests.
  • Reporting: Prepare reports on all aspects related to software development.
  • Code Review: Review the work of other software engineers and offer feedback.
  • Project Meetings: Participate in project meetings including Agile/Scrum grooming, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and daily stand-ups.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate in an agile software development process with software engineers, subject matter experts, and stakeholders.
  • Mentorship: Mentor Software Engineers to facilitate skill and knowledge development through advice, coaching, and training opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • Education/Certifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related STEM field.
  • Clearance Requirement: Must be eligible for a Secret DOD security clearance.
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in designing, developing, and implementing software components.
  • Technical Skills: Experience with source control tools such as git, software lifecycle management tool like Azure DevOps, writing unit tests, and conducting code reviews.
  • Desired Skills: Experience in ANY of the following is desired: Agile/Scrum software development practices, Azure DevOps, PostgreSQL or SQL and Database Operations, Linux (CentOS, RHEL) and Windows Operating Systems, Object-oriented languages and web development technologies, C#, JavaScript/TypeScript, Angular, Material Design, SQL (especially PostGreSQL), Entity Framework, SignalR/Websockets, Docker and containerized web services, Visual Studio.
