The Production Equipment Specialist is accountable for the effective preparation, configuration, initiation, and operation of manufacturing machinery. This role ensures that production tasks align with quality benchmarks, adhere to manufacturing protocols, and comply with safety regulations, all while striving for continuous enhancement of operational quality and efficiency.
Key ResponsibilitiesOperational Excellence:
- Set up, operate, and troubleshoot machinery to manufacture components that meet specified criteria.
- Optimize setup efficiency, focusing on setup duration, material usage, production throughput, and resource consumption.
- Conduct pre-setup inspections of machinery, equipment, and tools to ensure readiness.
- Identify and address issues that may compromise product quality, collaborating with relevant departments for resolution.
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of equipment.
- Recognize nonconforming materials/products and coordinate with supervisory personnel for corrective actions.
Quality Assurance:
- Ensure that all produced parts comply with established quality standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area.
- Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
- Complete all necessary documentation and paperwork for each shift.
- Facilitate effective shift transitions by communicating job status and updates to incoming personnel.
Responsive Action:
- Act promptly in response to equipment malfunctions or unusual conditions, notifying supervisory staff as necessary.
- Basic proficiency in setting up, loading, and unloading materials from both manual and automated machinery with minimal supervision.
- Competence in basic computer operations, data entry, and the ability to utilize simple software to manage equipment.
- Ability to work efficiently and accurately while fostering a collaborative team environment.
