Program Overview:

Our comprehensive 12-month transition-to-practice program is designed to facilitate your journey from nursing student to professional nurse through education, mentorship, and peer support. This Nurse Residency program equips new graduate nurses with the essential knowledge, skills, and behaviors required to enhance quality and safety at the point of care. It features a combination of precepted orientation led by dedicated mentors and blended learning experiences.

Responsibilities:
The staff nurse is responsible for delivering nursing care to patients across the lifespan, utilizing nursing processes to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care. This role operates within the organization's policies and procedures while demonstrating professional growth and accountability. The staff nurse maintains standards of practice and coordinates patient care activities to ensure quality nursing care.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • Minimum Experience: New graduates of a nursing program are eligible.
  • Licensure/Certification: Current Registered Nurse license in the State of Georgia and BLS certification required.
  • Preferred: Bachelor's degree and advanced certification in specialty area, if applicable.
