Arborist Crew Leader

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Arborist Crew Leader to join our team at Lewis Tree Service. As a key member of our forestry operations, you will be responsible for leading a tight-knit crew and creating a positive team environment. Your expertise in tree trimming, removal, and spraying will be essential in ensuring the safe and efficient completion of our utility customers' projects.

• Lead a crew of arborists in tree trimming, removal, and spraying operations
• Interpret tree trimming and removal orders from General Foreman or customer representatives
• Plan and layout daily work for the crew, considering time, equipment, and weather conditions
• Perform Pre-Job Hazard Surveys and assign tasks based on crew members' knowledge and skills
• Climb trees and operate aerial lifts for trimming and removals
• Prepare and maintain equipment, including hand tools, chainsaws, and chippers
• Remove limbs and brush, and dispose of debris
• Mix and apply spray chemicals to preserve desirable vegetation
• Ensure on-the-job safety practices and safeguard employees and the public

• Two years or more experience as a Trimmer/Climber, working around utility lines
• Ability to lead people and communicate effectively
• Knowledge of trees, including identification, growth habits, and arboriculture techniques
• Experience in tree climbing, knot tying, and PPE
• Understanding of drawings and symbols representing utility lines and equipment
• Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting and operating equipment
