Job Title: Leadership Annual Gift Officer

Colby College is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Leadership Annual Gift Officer to join our team. As a key member of our Advancement team, you will be responsible for qualifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding a portfolio of Colby donors capable of making leadership annual fund gifts towards the Dare Northward campaign.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Qualify and cultivate a portfolio of Colby donors capable of making leadership annual fund gifts.
  • Solicit leadership annual giving-level donors directly and through collaboration with department colleagues and volunteers.
  • Qualify donors for potential major gift capacity and interests, noting appropriate background on prospects to funnel to major gift portfolios.
  • Participate in the execution of events and programs in support of development activities, engage key volunteers, and effectively utilize events and other activities to move solicitations forward.
  • Work collaboratively with peers in other fundraising areas to maximize fundraising productivity.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or the equivalent in education and experience.
  • Previous fundraising experience with demonstrated success in making direct solicitations and an understanding of the moves management process.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Organizational and time management skills are essential, as is the ability to work effectively both as part of a team and independently.
  • Professional conduct and appropriate handling of confidential information is required.
  • Availability to work hours outside the normal working day (i.e. nights and weekends).
  • Ability to travel frequently.
Working Conditions:

The Leadership Annual Gift Officer will work in a general open office and campus environment. Position involves sitting, although frequent movement is necessary. Computer usage involving repetitive hand/wrist motion is also necessary. Ability to move around campus and interact with faculty, staff, students, parents/alumni, and external constituencies regularly is crucial. Travel and work outside of normal business hours are required.
