Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Field Service Engineer to join our team at ManTech. As a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting complex network systems at user locations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform installation, removal, upgrade, and interface actions associated with network components at user locations.
  • Inventory shipments, install racks, equipment, infrastructure, and provide redline installation documents and completion reports.
  • Facilitate and finalize all aspects of site acceptance.
  • Provide fault isolation in a data communications network.
  • Activate/deactivate network components according to established schedules.
  • Interface with users and/or network vendors.
  • Coordinate with users, site/base support, security offices, and/or facilities personnel, network managers, and controllers, long haul and local carriers for site access, installation, cutover, activation, deactivation, planning, and execution.
  • Provide functional guidance, supervision, technical support, training, and quality assurance/quality control to Associate and Intermediate personnel.
  • Support senior staff as required and ensure customer requirements and project milestones are met.
  • Perform a variety of difficult assignments associated with monitoring and controlling computer operating systems.
  • Supervise and manage the daily activities of configuration and operation of business systems.
  • Optimize system operation and resource utilization and perform system capacity analysis and planning.
  • Set up and maintain devices/vendors: CISCO, Juniper, Safenet, Ciena, and Sycamore.
  • Analyze system faults and troubleshoot and run diagnostic tests on operating systems and hardware to detect problems.
  • Evaluate and install developed software during various phases of testing.
  • Review and prepare documentation for systems, tests, and installation of software.
  • Investigate and recommend methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
  • Initiate preventive maintenance on the operating systems as well as repairs to system/environment problems.
  • Administer systems/environment solutions for multiple projects with varying schedules.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma and at least 4 years of relevant experience to include the following:
    • Experience with one or more: fault management, configuration management, and WAN maintenance.
    • Expertise in one or more of the following: IP routing, Optical, Crypto, Network appliances (WAN acceleration, etc.).
    • Ability to work in a team-focused, dynamic environment.
    • Experience in fabrication of serial, cat6, coax, fiber, and DC power cable fabrication for equipment installations, modifications, and upgrades.
    • Experienced with major vendors, i.e. Sycamore, Ciena, Juniper, Promina, Cisco.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Manufacturer certifications for vendor-specific equipment (i.e. CISCO, Juniper, etc.).
  • DoD 8570 IAT Level II Certification (Security+CE or equivalent or higher certification).
Clearance Requirements
  • Must have an active Top Secret security clearance.
