Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Center Operations Engineer to join our team at General Dynamics Information Technology. As a Data Center Operations Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our data centers, providing exceptional customer service, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to resolve complex technical issues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage, maintain, troubleshoot, and resolve critical technical issues within the data center.
  • Install and maintain data center server hardware, including storage blocks, servers, patch panels, switches, routers, and other large-scale networking gear.
  • Familiarity with Linux command-line tools to assist with troubleshooting and configuration.
  • Participate in on-call rotation to respond to data center issues during off-hours.
  • Participate in disaster recovery mock drills and procedures.
  • Provide cleared escort services as needed to personnel requiring access for maintenance, inspection, or other purposes.
  • Perform light shipping and receiving tasks.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Network Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 8+ years of experience in working with computer systems and networks, specifically with the Linux operating system.
  • Ability to perform physical work, including lifting servers, network switches, and other equipment.
  • Desirable qualifications include experience with field-based work in POPs and data centers, troubleshooting OS, network equipment, and software, and experience with Linux-based tools.
  • Security Clearance Level: TS/SCI with active polygraph.
  • Location: On Customer Site - Aurora, CO.
