Position Overview

QinetiQ US is looking for an instructor specializing in metal machining and fabrication. Key responsibilities include:

Responsibilities

The selected candidate will:

  • Develop a comprehensive course curriculum and instruct on various topics including CNC machining, manual machining, welding, and sheet metal fabrication.
  • Mentor staff beyond formal training sessions.
  • Exhibit sound judgment, strong interpersonal skills, and technical proficiency.

Required Qualifications

  • TS/SCI (with Poly) - A highly motivated and skilled instructor with proven experience in training within a machine shop environment.
  • A robust background in computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) and machining theory.
  • Demonstrated expertise in programming and operating CNC mills and lathes, particularly with 5-axis simultaneous milling and turning operations.
  • Experience with computer-aided design (CAD) software.
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team.

Desired Skills

  • Willingness to obtain SolidWorks Professional Certification within six months.
  • Formal experience in adult education, including course and curriculum development, lesson planning, and evaluation of students and courses.
  • A professional interest in the future of manufacturing and emerging technologies.
  • Proficiency or a desire to develop expertise in sheet metal fabrication and welding processes, including GMAW/GTAW/SMAW/EBW.

Preferred Qualifications

While the following skills are desired, applicants eager to grow and develop in these areas are encouraged to apply:
