About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our team at Caretenders, a part of LHC Group. As an Occupational Therapy Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to patients in their homes, helping them to restore their physical abilities and improve their overall well-being.

Responsibilities
  • Provide occupational therapy to patients in their homes, following the established plan of care and in accordance with state laws governing occupational therapy assistants.
  • Instruct and aid patients in evidence-based treatment within the scope of the occupational therapy assistant and according to state laws.
  • Observe, record, and report to the supervising OT, nurse supervisor, and/or physician the patient's response to treatment and changes in the patient's condition.
  • Coordinate care with other members of the healthcare team as appropriate.
  • Instruct patient, family, caregiver, and other members of the healthcare team in the areas of therapy within the scope of the occupational therapy assistant.
Requirements
  • Current OTA licensure in the state of employment.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Current driver's license and vehicle insurance, and access to a dependable vehicle or public transportation.
