About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Mental Health Worker to join our team at IASIS Healthcare. As a key member of our psychiatric care team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care and support to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in patient admission and discharge processes, ensuring accurate and timely documentation of vital signs, patient belongings, and unit rules.
  • Implement the interdisciplinary treatment plan for individual patients, monitoring and reporting routine vital signs, patient intake and output, and assisting with specimen collection.
  • Assist patients with activities of daily living, including eating, dressing, bathing, toileting, ambulating, and personal hygiene.
  • Escorts patients to and from unit for tests and activities as needed, and performs patient safety checks at scheduled intervals.
  • Participate in limit setting and de-escalation techniques, and assist in medical emergencies as directed.
  • Monitor and promptly communicate patient observations or information relative to patient safety or clinical status to the Patient Care Director or Registered Nurse designee.
Requirements
  • High school diploma; additional college education preferred.
  • One to two years of experience in nursing assistant, ER tech, or mental health worker roles required.
  • Ability to identify patient behaviors requiring intervention, manage stress and pace in an acute psychiatric setting, and perform basic physical care.
  • BLS certification required, with CPI training within the first six months.
