The Surgical Services RN plays a crucial role in the patient care team, responsible for delivering both direct and indirect care throughout the nursing process across various assigned areas. The RN will conduct thorough assessments of patients upon their admission, utilizing effective interview techniques to gather comprehensive medical histories, current health statuses, vital signs, laboratory results, imaging studies, and other diagnostic evaluations.

Key Duties

The Surgical Services department is dedicated to providing safe, high-quality, and cost-effective patient care. This role involves working within a dynamic surgical environment that includes various specialties such as General Surgery, Orthopedics, NeuroSpine, Urology, GYN, Vascular, and more.

Registered Nurses in this department may have the opportunity to scrub in during procedures, contingent upon their training and experience. Scheduled surgical cases typically occur Monday through Friday, with additional on-call responsibilities for urgent or emergency situations.

Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Nursing is required.
  • Licensure: A valid RN license is mandatory.
  • Certifications: BLS and ACLS certifications are required.
  • Experience: A minimum of three years of nursing experience is preferred.
  • Skills: Strong mathematical, analytical, and communication skills are essential.
