We are seeking an experienced Intermediate-Level Transportation Engineer to join our dynamic team at Jacobs. As a key member of our Transportation Drainage group, you'll play a critical role in designing and developing large-scale infrastructure projects that shape the future of urban development.

About the Position

This exciting opportunity is located at our Holladay, Utah office, where you'll collaborate with top engineers and project managers on transportation-related projects throughout Utah and the western United States. Your expertise in hydrology and hydraulic design will be essential in creating sustainable, efficient, and effective urban infrastructure solutions.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and design urban and rural transportation projects, including roadways, aviation, and railways, in a team environment with other project engineers.
  • Develop drainage analysis and design plans according to project requirements and state and local public transportation agency regulations.
  • Prepare contract drainage drawings, specifications, and cost estimates in support of project objectives.
  • Collaborate with the Transportation Drainage Group Leader and/or Project Managers/Engineers to prepare project-specific drainage reports and technical memoranda.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to ensure project success.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
  • Engineer in Training (EIT).
  • 3-5 years of experience in hydrology and hydraulic engineering and drainage systems design.
  • Excellent analytical, conceptual, communication, and organizational skills.

Ideal Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in CADD/Design software (Microstation/OpenRoads and AutoCAD/Civil 3D) and H&H design software (HEC-RAS 1D and/or 2D, CulvertMaster, FlowMaster, HY8, FHWA Hydraulic Toolbox).
  • Experience in stormwater management, water quality, and erosion and sediment control.
  • Background working with municipalities, DOTs, or engineering consultants focused on drainage projects.

Earnings Potential: $90,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
