This role reports directly to the General Counsel.

Position Overview

PCS is in search of a seasoned paralegal to bolster the efforts of our Legal Department. This role encompasses the management and oversight of legal contracts and agreements, along with the administration of the company's compliance policies, procedures, and training initiatives. Under general supervision, the Senior Paralegal will deliver professional legal and compliance support, including legal research, drafting legal and business communications, and managing legal documentation and compliance frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing comprehensive administrative, clerical, and research assistance to the General Counsel, which includes document preparation, review, and fact-checking.
  • Conducting legal and non-legal research as directed by the General Counsel, compiling information on laws, regulations, and court rulings.
  • Summarizing research findings and conclusions effectively.
  • Drafting legal documents and correspondence for subsequent review.
  • Collaborating with HR, Finance, Operations, and IT departments as necessary.
  • Clarifying procedures, regulations, and policies to PCS employees, clients, and external stakeholders.
  • Coordinating and participating in meetings, taking notes, and providing additional support as needed.

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Education

  • A Bachelor's degree is required; a graduate degree is advantageous.
  • A minimum of 7 years of paralegal experience, demonstrating progressive responsibility in either corporate settings or law firms.
  • A proven history of developing and executing effective legal document management systems aligned with Legal Department goals.
  • Strong familiarity with insurance industry regulations and requirements (NAIC, NYDFS, etc.) is preferred.
  • Experience in managing compliance policies, procedures, and employee training programs.
  • Proficiency in collaborating with and managing vendor partnerships.
  • Exceptional communication, collaboration, and organizational skills, with the ability to foster relationships across all organizational levels.
  • Experience in Property & Casualty insurance is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a largely remote workforce.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.
