Nurse Practitioner

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Endoscopy Center team. As a Registered Nurse in this role, you will provide direct care to patients undergoing endoscopy procedures, utilizing the nursing process of assessment and physician delegation.
This is a 1.0 FTE position working 4, 10-hour shifts per week, typically Monday-Friday, with occasional Saturday shifts. The starting rate of pay for this position is between $42.84/hour, with salary range varying based on experience and education.
Key Responsibilities- Record patients' medical history and assessment.
- Start IV/saline lock.
- Perform INR and glucose testing.
- Prepare patients for and assist physician in endoscopy procedures.
- Maintain accurate, detailed reports and records in the electronic health record.
- Recovery of sedated patients and discharge assessments.
- Utilize proper infection control techniques.
- Monitor all aspects of patient care, anticipate patient and physician needs.
- Instruct individuals and families on topics such as health education and disease prevention.
- Infusion and injection administration
- Esophageal Motility/PH testing
- ARM/Biofeedback
- Assist with BRAVO Capsule placement
- Capsule studies
- Maintain supplies by keeping supplies stock for the Endoscopy Center and order as needed
- Charge Nurse, Preceptor and Infusion RN
- On-Call Prep RN (Vadnais Heights Endoscopy Site)
- Responding to patient calls while on call (evening, weekend or holiday)
- At our Vadnais Heights and Maple Grove Endoscopy Sites:
- Admission, recovery, and procedural care of pediatric patients
- Any and all other duties as assigned
The qualifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required to perform the essential functions of this position.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in nursing required.
- One to two years of clinical experience is preferred; GI related experience is preferred.
- Experience using an Electronic Health Record is required.
Current Minnesota Nursing License is required. Must be BLS certified.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities- Working knowledge of: Gastrointestinal system, Infection control practices, Emergency response, Microsoft Office applications, Medical terminology.

- The employee is required to use dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, other clinic equipment, and to possibly perform phlebotomy.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus.
- The employee may be required to lift and transport items up to 50 pounds.
- The employee will be required to apply pressure to abdomen while assisting with procedures.
- Employees may be required to travel to other company locations due to staffing and training needs.

- While performing the duties of this position, the employee works in a clinical environment and may be exposed to hazardous chemicals or conditions including exposure to blood or other body fluids.
- Appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and training will be provided.
- The employee is exposed to a computer monitor daily.
- The employee may be required to travel by automobile and exposed to changing weather conditions while performing the duties of this position.
- While performing the duties of this position, the employee must be alert to conditions that may impact the safety of patients, employees and visitors.
