**Job Summary:** We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Field Trainer to join our team at Telcom Construction Inc. As a Field Trainer, you will be responsible for training new and existing employees to industry and company standards in various aspects of utility construction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Effectively train new and existing employees on the safe operation of diesel and gasoline powered equipment, including backhoes, hydro-vacs, and directional drills.
  • Train employees on the proper use of various hand and small tools, such as shovels, tampers, generators, and other equipment.
  • Locate buried wire, cabling, and other utilities, and train employees on the safe and proper procedures for doing so.
  • Install underground communications cabling, including setting up pedestals and hand holes, and train employees on the proper techniques and safety protocols.
  • Train employees on the safe and proper use of flagging, property and worksite restoration, jetting, shooting pneumatic gophers, and operating compressors.
  • Conduct work site walk-throughs and address any issues or concerns.
  • Monitor and adhere to all safety processes and procedures, and assist managers in creating employee development plans.
  • Maintain records and documentation regarding employee training, and perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Previous utility construction field experience with a focus on crew leadership is required.
  • Previous telecommunications construction field experience is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain a positive working environment and good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to present in both classroom and field settings, and work with individuals at all levels throughout the organization.
  • Basic computer skills are required, and Google application experience is preferred.
  • Valid Class A CDL driver's license with a good driving record is required, and regional travel is necessary.
Physical Requirements
  • Frequent sitting, standing, and walking on various indoor and outdoor surfaces.
  • Frequent bending, squatting, kneeling, crawling, or twisting on concrete, dirt, or gravel surfaces.
  • Frequent use of sight, hearing, and voice.
  • Frequent performance of routine and repetitive tasks with hands, arms, feet, and/or legs.
  • Regular light to moderate lifting (up to 25 lbs).
  • Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs, and rarely up to 75 lbs.
  • Occasional work in adverse weather conditions.
  • Occasional presence in a moderately noisy environment.
  • Ability to safely wear job-specific PPE, including eye, hearing, head, respiratory, and foot protection, as well as high-visibility clothing.
