Job Overview

As an Automotive Surface Preparation Specialist, you will play a crucial role in the preparation of truck components for the painting process. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Utilizing hand and power tools to finish metal surfaces, ensuring they are ready for painting.
  • Applying primer and paint to truck parts as required.
  • Inspecting and maintaining equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Collaborating with team members to uphold a clean and safe working environment.

Key Responsibilities

Your essential duties will encompass:

  • Communicating effectively with colleagues to promote safety.
  • Following detailed instructions to complete tasks efficiently.
  • Finishing, sanding, and preparing surfaces of truck components.
  • Mixing and applying body fillers to address surface imperfections.
  • Utilizing technology to access and interpret technical documents.
  • Maintaining inventory records for parts used in the finishing process.
  • Ensuring a tidy workspace by cleaning tools and equipment regularly.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, candidates should possess:

  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience or a high school diploma.
  • Experience in automotive painting or metal finishing is preferred.

Physical Requirements

All candidates must be able to:

  • Lift and maneuver parts weighing up to 75 pounds.
  • Stand for extended periods and perform tasks in various positions.
  • Utilize personal protective equipment as necessary.
