Job Summary

As an Avionics Systems Engineer at Greenpoint Technologies, you will be responsible for designing and developing advanced avionics systems for VIP and commercial aircraft. This includes creating cabin system components, in-flight entertainment, communication systems, LED cabin lighting, AC/DC power systems, and other products that meet customer criteria, design quality standards, FAA requirements, budget, and project schedules.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop master drawing lists of avionics systems drawings and documents for project-level STC.
  • Define avionics and electrical system architecture requirements and definitions for VIP/VVIP aircraft.
  • Design wire diagrams and preliminary wire routing using engineering drafting tools.
  • Review and approve completed drawing packages from peers for release.
  • Develop verification and test procedures to comply with the latest FAA design requirements.
  • Support installation of systems via liaison with modification facilities, identify root cause issues, capture redline updates, resolve design issues, and update drawings to meet schedule.
  • Interface with customers, FAA designees, and vendors during the entire project to ensure designs meet all requirements.
  • Participate in the project bid process to capture engineering and design requirements for bid estimates and firm price quotes to customers.
  • Participate in project scheduling of avionics systems to ensure accuracy to major milestones and deliverables.
  • Prepare design checklists, templates, and other processes as needed.
  • Maintain close coordination with project engineers to comply with schedule and cost of projects.
  • Mentor and guide other engineers on technical designs or processes.
  • Maintain regular attendance, including being at work, being on time to work, and working full shifts.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Extensive technical knowledge of Boeing aircraft for VIP and/or commercial models.
  • Strong working knowledge of My Boeing Fleet for OEM data sets.
  • Thorough knowledge of power distribution.
  • Thorough understanding of the certification and electrical design process.
  • Ability to provide complex layouts and program design studies.
  • Ability to work and make decisions independently with limited supervision.
  • Ability to successfully interface with customers on projects.
  • Competent use of CAD and data management systems.
  • Ability to understand and derive multiple customer standard electrical system requirements.
  • Ability to work well independently and cross-functionally across multiple organizations.
  • Ability to coach and motivate teams of engineers.
  • Experience leading employees/teams in productive and efficient manner.
  • Strong communication, time-management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time, use hands to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and have close/color vision ability to adjust focus.
  • Ability to travel as required.
  • Ability to work outside of core business hours as required.
