POSITION SUMMARY: The Vice President of Mortgage Servicing Oversight will spearhead the strategic vision and implementation of oversight functions for mortgage servicing operations. This role is accountable for ensuring adherence to regulatory and Government-Sponsored Enterprise (GSE) standards, managing operational risks, and enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of servicing activities for both in-house and external servicers.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: The following duties are essential to the role, but are not limited to:
- Possesses comprehensive knowledge of the Quality Control function concerning FNMA, FHLMC, FHA/VA, and USDA regulations.
- Experienced in conducting and evaluating servicing reviews, including loan administration, default management, and loss mitigation strategies.
- Demonstrated experience in establishing a Quality Control Program from an organizational perspective to ensure adequate protection of the company.
- In-depth understanding of both state and federal regulatory requirements for residential mortgage servicing, with the ability to assess the accuracy, reliability, and appropriateness of documentation.
- Defines unique operational environments, identifies operational risks, and develops quality control strategies and tactics to mitigate risk exposures.
- Responsible for creating and delivering training for Managers and Analysts as needed, along with the development and maintenance of employee performance metrics and standards for the Quality Control Department.
- Oversees the maintenance of the Servicing Quality Control Plan.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in the mortgage servicing sector.
- Management experience, overseeing a team of analysts, both internal and remote.
- Proven expertise in residential mortgage servicing practices and processes, along with a strong understanding of investor and regulatory compliance.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong data analytics skills and a focus on data integrity to ensure the successful achievement of performance objectives.
- Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail, critical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and effective time management skills.
Direct Reports: 3 - 5 Quality Control Specialists in Servicing
COMPENSATION:
The Ladders offers a competitive salary range, with total compensation factors including experience in servicing compliance, mortgage industry knowledge, and years of relevant experience.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This position operates in a standard office environment, utilizing office equipment and tasks, including work at a computer terminal. The role requires a combination of sitting and walking throughout the day. Flexibility to work additional hours may be necessary to complete assigned responsibilities.
