Job Summary:
The IT Technical Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the implementation of IT Application projects. This role manages various programs and projects, providing relationship management on behalf of the AVANGRID IT group. The objective is to provide an IT technical solution that meets requirements in a timely and cost-effective manner. Projects can be funded by both the business or IT. For IT-funded projects, the Project Manager is responsible for budget management, ranging approximately from $100K to $4M per annum per project.

Key Responsibilities:
Provides leadership on various programs and projects. Management includes developing scope, creating project teams, managing project teams (matrix style) across business and IT areas (architecture, infrastructure, governance, security, networking), solution design creation, solution sign-off, project design execution, operational handover, and close-out. Determines project management delivery style based on methodologies available and project requirements. Adapts to new styles, trains/coaches vendors on AVANGRID processes, or manages working in an AGILE way where applicable. Interfaces with global counterparts to review solution design and facilitate best practice process considerations in solution design. Leads cross-functional project teams, holds regular program/project status meetings, and provides direction and leads decision-making. Holds project team members accountable for results and provides linkage to management for decision-making outside of day-to-day program/project team activities. Manages vendor relationships, system integrators, contractors, and contingent workers on a project-by-project basis. Project team size for any single project can vary between 5-30 resources. Participates in preparing plans and budgets for programs and projects, manages progress against plans, takes corrective action to offset variances, and reports to management on progress status. Responsible for meeting corporate objectives for capital investment, manages projects to approved scope, schedule, and budget, and is the budget owner for their project portfolio. Provides relationship management for business areas, develops monthly key project dashboards for review with the AVANGRID CIO, and is responsible for innovation targets within Global IT and Avangrid. Required to submit ideas to global IT for innovation and execute proof of concepts on approved ideas. Performs a lead role for IT in any storm-related activities, IT event coordinator, and when activated, reports directly to the Area Commander and provides coordination services across the entire IT organization. Attends all area command meetings and reports IT status as required.

Requirements:

Education:
Bachelor's degree required in IT, Business, Finance, or a related field. 7 years of relevant experience required.

Skills/Abilities:
Microsoft Suite advanced user. Certification for Project/Program management (preferred). AGILE methodology experience (preferred). At least 3 years of experience with various IT areas. Knowledge of IT design and architecture. Management skills including staff development and budget.

Experience/Training:
Project management experience. 3-5 years of IT work preferred, including AGILE project management experience. Strong service delivery experience, preferably within IT. Experience in leading projects and/or teams. Experience managing projects with integrations to Enterprise Systems. Prior management supervisory experience. Knowledge of IT business and financial aspects.
