Rotor Balancing Technician

Rotating Machinery Services Inc. is seeking a skilled Rotor Balancing Technician to perform a variety of mechanical operations and tasks on turbomachinery components and assemblies. This role requires a strong understanding of safety protocols and a commitment to quality excellence.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain a safe working environment and adhere to safety policies and procedures.
- Assemble components in accordance with procedures, drawings, and specifications.
- Perform precision balancing on components and rotating assemblies to specified requirements.
- Use calipers, gauges, micrometers, and other measuring tools to determine the condition of components and assemblies.
- Generate inspection reports as required and assist with documenting quality issues and solutions.
- Safety Conscience
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Ability and willingness to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as required
- Ability and willingness to work in an environment of constant pushing, pulling, lifting, stretching, bending, and other physical activities
- Ability and willingness to be in the shop environment a minimum of 8 hours per day, primarily standing and sitting, as required
- Ability and willingness to work around and use large propane/acetylene torches
- Ability to operate small lifts, pallet jacks, and other lifting equipment (training will be provided on our specific equipment, but basic skills are required beforehand)
- Basic oral and written communication skills
- Basic computer and math skills
- Patience, attention to detail, and willingness to learn
- High school diploma or equivalent from an accredited school or institution
- At least two years of experience working in an industrial or machine shop setting preferred
- Minimum of two years of experience with component assembly and dynamic balancing
- Ability to stand and walk for significant portions of the shift
- Ability and willingness to lift objects weighing up to 30 lbs., walk, climb, reach, kneel, crawl, and balance
- Must be able to use hands for assembly and tool usage
- Must not have allergies or issues related to handling metals including aluminum, copper, bronze, and steel
- Ability to work in a shop environment with moderate noise and metal particles
