About the Role

Epic Games is seeking an experienced Senior Gameplay Designer to contribute to the development of our collaboration with Disney. As a key member of our dynamic team, you will collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to shape and refine gameplay features, balance game mechanics, craft engaging quests and scenarios, and ensure a compelling player experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own the design and implementation of various major features, such as gameplay systems, quests, and encounters while fostering innovation
  • Effectively communicate project vision to team members of all disciplines, collaborating with product management and marketing teams to ensure player satisfaction and overall game health
  • Set and maintain high-quality standards for design, actively participating in big-picture decisions to drive superior results
  • Create clear, structured design documents and drive collaborative, iterative prototyping processes, both paper-based and in-game
  • Utilize data-driven insights to inform design decisions, adjust live balance in real-time, and react quickly to changing project needs, driving to effective solutions
Requirements
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience shipping multiple titles as a game designer, with expertise in various aspects of game design such as social gameplay features, balance tuning, quest content, and scenario design
  • Deep passion for multiplayer games with a wide breadth of game knowledge and understanding of player motivations
  • Ability to react quickly to changing project needs and directions, along with strong problem-solving skills and a solution-oriented mindset
  • Experience with multiplayer cooperative games, systems design, analytics tools/languages/processes, and visual scripting is a plus
