Behavior Interventionist Role at Coral Academy of Science, NV

The Behavior Interventionist will work under the supervision of the Principal to observe student behavior in various settings, such as the classroom, cafeteria, playground, or gymnasium. This will help identify triggers that may lead to inappropriate behavior.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Performing functional behavior assessments (FBAs)
  • Communicating and supporting teachers and parents about student progress and behavioral strengths and weaknesses
  • Creating and implementing behavior plans based on FBA data designed to help students improve behavior and learn new skills
  • Communicating with parents to help them understand their child's behavior, provide positive reinforcement for good behavior, and create a structured environment at home
  • Monitoring and documenting student progress, adjusting the behavior plan as needed
  • Supporting the implementation of the behavior intervention plan by coaching and modeling interventions for teachers and aides
  • Attending and participating in staff meetings, professional development seminars, and other student support-related meetings
  • Maintaining visibility and accessibility on the school campus and at school-related activities and events during the workday
  • Recognizing indicators of disruption of the orderly conduct of the school and implementing strategies
  • Other duties as assigned by the Principal

Preferred Qualification: Standard NV Board Certified Behavior Analysis certification is preferred.
