Job Overview

Gateway Rehabilitation Center is seeking a dedicated Work Release Case Manager to facilitate employment opportunities for individuals transitioning from correctional facilities. This role requires a high level of autonomy and the ability to follow established guidelines with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and authorize weekly schedules and financial plans for residents.
  • Deliver educational and counseling sessions focused on life skills and job readiness, both individually and in groups.
  • Guide residents in their job search efforts and ensure compliance with job hour requirements.
  • Track attendance at job sites through both telephonic and in-person verification methods.
  • Supervise attendance at 12-step meetings for residents.
  • Coordinate community service obligations for residents.
  • Maintain accurate case files and documentation as required by oversight authorities.
  • Connect residents with external agencies for additional support.
  • Ensure that employers adhere to appropriate employment practices as mandated by correctional policies.
  • Assist in planning aftercare and referrals for residents upon discharge.
  • Implement custody control measures as necessary.
  • Facilitate the return of residents to the custody of probation and parole authorities.
  • Provide transportation for residents when required.
  • Participate in mandatory training and professional development sessions.
Qualifications

Essential Skills:

  • Understanding of case management methodologies, including assessment and follow-up.
  • Knowledge of the legal framework surrounding probation, parole, and reintegration initiatives.
  • Capability to create and execute personalized case management plans.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Proficient in engaging effectively with clients, employers, and other relevant parties.

Minimum Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Experience in substance abuse treatment and correctional program management.

Additional Requirements:

  • Successful completion of a background check as mandated by the Department of Corrections.
  • Pass a drug screening test.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Certification in CPR and First Aid.
  • Negative TB test result.
Work Environment
  • Work is conducted within a correctional facility setting.
  • Standard working conditions apply.
  • Physical demands are minimal, but mental demands require attention to detail and effective interaction with residents and employers.
