Job Summary

The Parts Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our fleet by picking up and delivering parts to company sites, with a significant portion of their time spent driving. This position also involves performing administrative and organizational tasks in the parts department, including monitoring stock locations, issuing parts and tools to maintenance personnel, ordering supplies from vendors, and recording data to maintain the department's inventory in a safe and efficient state.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Compliance: Wear the necessary PPE when and where required.
  2. Vehicle Operations: Operate a company vehicle to pick up orders from vendor locations and deliver to company sites.
  3. Clerical Duties: Inspect shipments for accuracy and completeness, update spreadsheets, and enter information in the database.
  4. Inventory Management: Receive and unpack orders, process invoices, label parts and shelves, and ensure all parts are stored in their assigned locations.
  5. Repair Order Processing: Process parts or supplies charged out to repair orders.
  6. Cyclical and Physical Inventories: Conduct regular and physical inventories to maintain accurate inventory levels.
  7. Returns and Warranties: Process and document returns, cores, and warranties following established procedures.
  8. Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service to both internal and external customers.
  9. Facility Maintenance: Ensure the cleanliness of the parts storage area, parts counter, and parts receiving area.
  10. Additional Responsibilities: Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: Two years of experience in a retail, wholesale, or automotive warehouse or inventory department, or equivalent experience with class 8 trucks and equipment.
  • Certifications: Must be able to obtain forklift certification by the company.
  • Skills: Strong inventory and data entry skills, ability to work independently, and proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Demonstrated familiarity with laws and regulations concerning the safe operation of maintenance facilities.
  • Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Diesel Mechanical Background: Experience in diesel mechanics is highly desirable.
Required Licenses and Certifications
  • Driver's License: Valid Class C driver's license.
  • Safe Driving Record: Safe driving record for the last three years.
