POSITION OVERVIEW

The Finance Superintendent will oversee daily financial operations, month-end financial activities, financial disclosures, balance sheet reconciliations, and the preparation of annual budgets across various entities. Additionally, this role will support management with ad hoc requests, collaborate with financial planning and analysis teams, and assist with data inquiries related to annual financial audits and tax return preparations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Overseeing Accounts Payable processes to guarantee timely payments and reimbursements for employee expenses.
  • Managing Payroll operations.
  • Conducting month-end closing activities, including the preparation and review of journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Monitoring and analyzing financial data.
  • Generating financial reporting packages and statements.
  • Reviewing consolidated financial statements.
  • Conducting business analysis and providing insights for improvement opportunities.
  • Maintaining the general ledger, assisting with audit preparations, and performing additional duties as assigned.
  • Managing cash flow and completing bank reconciliations.
  • Executing other assigned responsibilities.

REQUIREMENTS

  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, or finance; a professional accounting designation is preferred.
  • Five to ten years of relevant accounting and general office experience, including cost and financial accounting within a mining context, are essential.
  • Strong comprehension of accounting and financial procedures, as well as office management.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel is required.
  • Understanding of basic economics, budgeting, accounting principles, compliance, and practices.
  • Demonstrated familiarity with SAP financial reporting systems is preferred.
  • Experience with ERP system implementations is preferred.
