Electrical Engineer

This is an exciting opportunity to utilize your academic background in Electrical Engineering in a professional position that offers a wide range of interesting and challenging responsibilities.
You will be working with other engineers and designers involved in nuclear plant electrical systems betterment and associated modifications, which will include:
- Electrical systems design
- Preparation of complex calculations
- Load flow and short circuit analysis
- Power flow analysis
- System impact assessment
- Cable ampacity calculations
- Preparation of documented design inputs
- Preparation of equipment and material specifications
- Preparation of design reports
Additional opportunities will include:
- Receiving training and mentorship from experienced engineers in the execution of meaningful project engineering assignments
- Becoming involved in power distribution designs and the preparation of specifications for the procurement of major electrical power equipment and related installation services
- Traveling to client and vendor offices for design reviews and to plant site locations for construction coordination and field verification of designs
This position is based on a hybrid work schedule and will require in-office work 3 days per week.
Qualifications:
- BS or MS in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program with a strong academic background in electrical power concepts/power systems analysis
- A minimum of 3 years of experience
- An understanding of the practical application of electrical engineering and technology including applying systems, principles, techniques, and procedures to a project design
- Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in the production of technical plans, drawings, and models
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong problem-solving skills
- PE license is beneficial, but not required
Valued but not required skills and experience:
- Experience performing transient analysis of power systems using software such as ETAP or SKM
Salary Range: $88,000 - $102,000
