Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Route Service Apprentice to join our team at City Laundering Company. As a Route Service Apprentice, you will play a critical role in delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring the efficient operation of our laundry routes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver clean laundry to customers and collect soiled laundry in a timely and professional manner.
  • Operate a commercial motor vehicle to transport laundry to and from customer locations.
  • Sort, collect, and gather soiled uniforms, linens, mats, and other items.
  • Load dirty laundry onto the truck and unload clean laundry for the next day's route.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and respond to customer inquiries in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Work effectively in a team environment to ensure the efficient operation of the laundry routes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
  • Clean driving record and valid Iowa Class D Chauffeurs driver's license required.
  • 1-2 years of job-related and/or customer service-related experience preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 60 pounds on a frequent basis.
  • Ability to drive a commercial motor vehicle for at least 10 hours on a daily basis.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Working Conditions

This job operates in a professional office environment. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets, and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.
