About the Role

">

We are looking for a seasoned expert with extensive experience in managing and maintaining Windows/Linux servers, ElasticSearch/OpenSearch clusters, AWS Cloud resources, Postgres databases, and container orchestration systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in scripting and automation using languages like Python, bash, and PowerShell. You will be responsible for ensuring the security and integrity of all systems, implementing best practices, and collaborating with the operations team to provide top-notch support.

Key Responsibilities

  • ">
  • Manage and maintain Windows/Linux servers, including physical, virtualized, and cloud-based environments.">
  • Monitor, manage, and maintain ElasticSearch/OpenSearch clusters.">
  • Oversee AWS Cloud resources such as S3, EC2, RDS, IAM, and CloudWatch.">
  • Monitor, manage, and maintain Postgres databases.">
  • Implement and maintain container orchestration systems.">
  • Utilize scripts and programming technologies to automate tasks, generate system access reports, and update application database records.">
  • Create and maintain system administration processes and procedures.">
  • Ensure all Windows/Linux based systems have the appropriate security patches and configurations installed.">
  • Provide excellent customer service skills to support other teams as required.">
  • Work flexible hours to support team coverage requirements (6AM - 6PM) and participate in on-call rotations.">

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • ">
  • A minimum of 10 years of related work experience and a Bachelor's degree or equivalent.">
  • Active DoD TS/SCI security clearance and willingness to obtain a Polygraph.">
  • Compliance with DoD 8570 and relevant certifications (e.g., Security+, Server+, Linux+, AWS Certified).">
  • Extensive experience with Windows Servers, Linux OS, and command-line interfaces.">
  • Knowledge of virtualization technologies (e.g., VMWare vSphere, Hyper-V).">
  • Experience with application administration, configuration, and integration.">
  • Familiarity with ElasticSearch/OpenSearch and cloud-based environments (AWS, S3, RDS, EC2, IAM, CloudWatch).">
  • Understanding of information system security best practices and STIGs.">
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.">
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.">

Compensation and Benefits

">

The compensation package includes:

">

$60.10/hour - $77.31/hour (contract rate)

">

$125,000 - $140,000 (conversion salary)

">

Location and Work Schedule

">

This position is fully on-site at the NGIC client site in Charlottesville, Virginia. The standard working hours are Monday through Friday, 10 am to 6 pm, with flexibility to work core hours between 6 am and 6 pm. On-call support may be required on weekends and evenings.
