Job Overview

S&C Electric is seeking a skilled Assembly Specialist to join our production team. In this role, you will be responsible for assembling overhead switches such as IntelliRupters in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assembling and Testing: Assemble and test IntelliRupters at various stations with dimensions approximately 9' x 4' x 4'
  • Component Handling: Identify, transport, install, mount, and bolt switch components weighing between 5 lbs to over 25 lbs without assistance
  • Mechanical Inspections: Perform mechanical inspections using torque wrenches, screwdrivers, and tape measures
  • Equipment Operation: Operate hand tools, power tools, simple gauges, and instruments, and overhead cranes if required
Requirements:
  • Basic Knowledge: Basic knowledge of mechanical assembly operations and ability to use basic shop math and measuring tools such as tape measures
  • Tool Proficiency: Ability to use air impact tools and other hand-held tools
  • Instruction Following: Ability to follow specific instructions and procedures and read assembly prints
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience: Mechanical assembly experience preferred
Physical Demands:
  • Standing and Walking: Standing: Most tasks are performed while standing with frequent walking
  • Lifting and Carrying: Frequent lifting of items weighing between 5 lbs to 25 lbs and frequent carrying of items weighing between 5 lbs to 25 lbs
  • Pulling and Bending: Occasional use of manual or electric hand trucks to move parts a moderate distance and frequent bending and crouching required to complete assembly tasks
  • Handling: Continuous handling of parts weighing between 5 lbs to 25 lbs
Estimated Salary: $60,000 - $80,000 per year
