Substation Superintendent

At TIC - The Industrial Company, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Substation Superintendent to join our team. As a key member of our Field Supervision department, you will play a critical role in the success of our Transmission and Substation projects.

The Substation Superintendent will be responsible for overseeing the execution of substation projects, ensuring that they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This will involve managing a team of Foremen, journeymen, and laborers, as well as coordinating with clients, architects, engineers, suppliers, and subcontractors.

• Mentor and develop junior superintendents to ensure their growth and success in their roles.
• Review and approve labor rates for Foremen, journeymen, and laborers.
• Manage contract administration, including communication with subcontractors and field management.
• Develop and implement programs to maintain good client relations and ensure effective communication with staff on site.
• Oversee and approve monthly job cost updates and quarterly cash flow projections.
• Review, approve, and negotiate change orders.
• Develop and implement plans for project completion and turnover.
• Maintain daily diaries for record-keeping purposes.
• Ensure timely completion of performance evaluations for direct reports.
• Recommend organizational, policy, and procedural changes as needed.
• Review and approve or reject promotions up to General Foreman.

• 8+ years of construction experience, with 3+ years in a Superintendent/Leadership capacity working on Transmission and Substation projects.
• Self-starter with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Ability to quickly learn and understand various processes regarding Kiewit's policies, procedures, and software programs.
• Excellent organizational, administrative, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong experience in Leadership, safety, negotiations, planning, and contract administration.

This role may require working at various locations and in different conditions. Regular, reliable attendance and the ability to work productively and meet deadlines are essential.

The base compensation for this role is $138,000 - $144,000 per year, with the potential for additional compensation based on experience and performance.
