At TIC - The Industrial Company, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Substation Superintendent to join our team. As a key member of our Field Supervision department, you will play a critical role in the success of our Transmission and Substation projects.
Job Summary:The Substation Superintendent will be responsible for overseeing the execution of substation projects, ensuring timely completion, and maintaining high-quality workmanship. You will work closely with clients, architects, engineers, suppliers, and subcontractors to deliver projects that meet or exceed expectations.
Key Responsibilities:- Mentor and develop junior superintendents to ensure a smooth transition of knowledge and skills.
- Review and approve labor rates for foremen, journeymen, and laborers to ensure compliance with company policies.
- Manage contract administration, including subcontractor and field management meetings to ensure effective communication.
- Develop and implement a program to maintain excellent client relationships, including regular site visits and meetings.
- Oversee and approve monthly job cost updates and quarterly cash flow projections to ensure financial stability.
- Review, approve, and negotiate change orders to ensure project profitability.
- Develop and implement a plan for project completion and turnover, ensuring a smooth transition to the next phase.
- Maintain daily diaries for record-keeping purposes and ensure timely completion of performance evaluations for direct reports.
- Recommend organizational, policy, and procedural changes to improve team efficiency and effectiveness.
- Review and approve or reject promotions up to General Foreman level.
- 8+ years of construction experience, with 3+ years in a Superintendent/Leadership capacity, working on Transmission and Substation projects.
- Self-starter with excellent organizational, administrative, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to quickly learn and understand various processes, including Kiewit's policies, procedures, and software programs.
- Strong experience in Leadership, safety, negotiations, planning, and contract administration.
This role requires regular, reliable attendance, with the ability to work productively and meet deadlines timely. You will be required to communicate and interact effectively with supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team environment. Perform work safely and effectively, understanding and following oral and written instructions, including warning signs, equipment use, and other policies.
Base Compensation: $138,000/yr - $144,000/yr (Actual compensation is subject to variation due to factors such as education, experience, skillset, and/or location)
