Social Work Supervisor

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Social Work Supervisor to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of social work principles, and a commitment to serving vulnerable populations.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct supervision and guidance to Case Managers and Housing Specialists, ensuring they deliver high-quality services aligned with house rules, NYC/DHS, and NYSOTDA regulations.
  • Foster a culture of professional growth by offering training opportunities and performance feedback to subordinate staff, promoting skill development and optimal work performance.
  • Maintain the integrity of case records through regular reviews and follow-up supervision, addressing any deficiencies promptly.
  • Serve as a point of contact for client emergencies, providing 24/7 support via cell phone.
  • Assume responsibility for cases in the absence of Senior Case Managers and Housing Specialists.
  • Oversee the timely submission of all required paperwork and reports from subordinate staff, ensuring compliance with facility and regulatory agency requirements.
  • Actively pursue professional development through supervision and participation in training programs both on-site and off-site.
  • Collaborate effectively with shelter staff to ensure the safety and well-being of residents.
  • Act as a liaison with community resources, connecting clients with essential services.
  • Participate in annual reviews and other evaluation processes for subordinates.
  • Perform any additional duties assigned by the Program Director.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree from an accredited college or university.
  • MSW Certification.
  • Prior supervisory experience in a social work setting.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the service delivery system for vulnerable populations.
  • Demonstrated commitment to professional growth and development.
  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish is highly desirable.
